28 APR 2019 - Alternator replacement

Replaced the alternator today and also replaced the voltage regulator.  Ops checked good across the board.

Already removed the old alternator, about to begin transfering wiring harness to new alternator.  The solid state external voltage regulator is in the upper left corner of the pic.

I'm pretty sure this is the original voltage regulator...I have owned the car for 15 years and never replaced it...til now.

27 APR 2019 - Driver side Vent window lever

Installed the driver side vent window lever.  Took about 5 minutes to install, very simple to do.  I used a hex wrench and an a channel lock pliers to install the roll pin and that was it.  So now I will order a replacement for the passenger side.  Discovered while installing the driver side vent window lever that the vent window needs a replacement gasket.

24 APR 2019 - door panel fasteners - driver side winglet window lever - rear spring u bolt nuts

I received these parts today; door panel fasteners - driver side winglet window lever - rear spring u bolt nuts.  As soon as I get the chance I will install the winglet driver side vent window lever.  The door panel fasteners are to be used when the other door/window components arrive.  The u bolt nuts have been put with the other rear suspension components.

24 APR 2019 - Fuel pressure regulator

Today and yesterday the car would randomly stall while driving to/from work.  Didn't matter if the road was straight, elevated, curved, the car would shut down.  If I immediately put the car in neutral, I could re-start the car and drive on.

So today I took a look at the fuel pressure.  The fuel pressure regulator was indicating that the pressure was 3-4.5 PSI.  So I bumped it up to 5.5 PSI.  Not sure whats the reason for the pressure drops(recently installed a new JEGS 80GPH pump).

Will continue to monitor the situation.

23 APR 2019 - 289 cylinder head

The second 289 cylinder head I ordered has arrived.  It is also a C60E-M.  Its missing a few more parts then the last one I ordered, but hey it is a rebuildable core and thats what I was looking for when it comes time to rebuild the 289 engine.

23 APR 2019 - Stabilizer bar end links - Replacement

The stabilizer bar end links were replaced back in 2016 with stock rubber pieces.  I thought I would see how the suspension/ride was with poly urethane pieces installed.  I installed the end links today, went for a test drive and can't really tell the difference.

23 APR 2019 - Alternator

The currently installed alternator has been in use since before 2000.  So I thought I would replace that unit now.  This weekend I will replace the alternator and also replace the external voltage regulator.

I have been soaking the parts and then flipping the pieces so that each end can soak...another day soaking in Evapo-Rust...

21 April 2019 - Headlight hinges - corrosion control / cleanup

Still working on cleaning up a driver side and passenger side set of headlight hinges.  I replaced the Evapo-rust solution with 2 fresh gallons.  Weather permitting, this week I will be painting those two pieces.

16 April 2019 - Front Suspension

Today I lubed the upper and lower balljoints, inner and out tie rods, manual steering adapter and the idler arm, and the spring perches.

Found out each of the spring perches have a grease zerk fitting!

11 April 2019 - 289 Cylinder head

I bought a 289 cylinder head from an online vendor.  Its dated 1966, which is good, the engine its to be installed onto is a 66.

As soon as I can I will order another cylinder head.  The goal is to get a basic long block together and rebuild the engine.
