Purchased a replacment ignition switch and will install this weekend.
Also purchased a replacment K7 turn signal relay. This relay is not related to the shutdown issue. The turn signal indicator in the dash does not cycle on/off with the current K7 relay, so I am replacing it.
Also since the dash/instrument cluster is being removed, I decided to replace the instrument cluster voltage regulator with a solid state unit.
And since I like the look of the red backlighting on the under dash gauge cluster, I purchased a red diffuser kit for the main instrument cluster and that will be installed soon.
