12 December 2018 - fuel system pieces-parts

I received the Edelbrock 8190 fuel pressure regulator, -6an fittings for the Edelbrock fuel pressure regulator.

I didn't realize it but the 8190 has a port for a fuel pressure gauge.

11 December 2018 - black windlace - cont'd

Today I was able to install the inner roof rail windlace along the back of the roof and over the back window.  I would like to install windlace on the overhead piece that spans the driver and passenger side.

10 Decemeber 2018 - black windlace

I received the black windlace today.  I will be installing that on the inner roof rail.

I purchased 18 feet of the black windlace.  I was able to install about 6 feet.  I will install more of the windlace on the inner roof rails in the back seat and across the back windshield when I get the chance.

This is the stuff...its not concourse correct, and I don't care, it looks cool to me, especially where I installed it.
This was purchased from Mustangs Plus, PN:1182, MPN:20-2022

Here it is installed, this pinch molding(windlace) is a PITA to install aroud this bend where the visor mount is located, hopefully it will stay in place

9 December 2018 - Monte Carlo bar

I finally decided to purchase a Monte Carlo bar.  Look forward to installing that piece.

9 December 2018 - fuel system changes

I have been considering changing to an Edelbrock 1405 carb.

Earlier in the year I bought a very used 1405 that needed extensive cleaning and replacement of all components.  After doing that, I still could not get the carb to work properly.  Later after that purchase I bought a brand new Holley 1850 and haven't even thought about changing carbs until recently.  About two weeks ago I had to replace the mechanical fuel pump.  I was having all sorts of driveability issues and that mechanical pump was the problem.  I replaced that mechanical pump with an 80 GPH mechanical pump.  This pump works just fine for the Holley 1850.  The fuel pressure is 6.5 PSI.  That is too high for an Edelbrock.

So I have been curious to know how well an Edelbrock 1405 would work for my engine.  So I have purchased a remanufactured 1405, adjustable non-return fuel pressure regulator, 3/8" fittings as needed for the fuel pressure regulator. I think I will also need a 2' SS braided -6an male to -6an male fuel line, dunno for sure yet, have to get all of these components installed to know.

6 December 2018 - courtesy lighting - front seat area

I received the white plasma LEDs to replace the 1156 bulbs used in the courtesy lights in the front seat area.

The LEDs are extremely bright, as expected.  I am hoping they will last for many years.

2 December 2018 - GeeWiz stuff

I ordered 18' of windlace to be used for the inner roof line.  I have been putting that off and now decided to finally deal with it before its a bigger problem.

Couple things I'd like to do in the short term;

  • install "H" pipe for the dual exhaust
  • clean up back seat, quarter panel area by painting rust converter

Long term thing;
  •  buy the rear spring set and install sometime early 2019
  • buy a front and rear set of fender extensions
  •  improve interior lighting(replace incandescents with LEDs) and add rear courtesy lights
