Since I will be adding a couple of quarts of transmission fluid to the torque converter, I need to find some temporary plugs for the dipstick tube and speedometer hole. Otherwise the fluid will spill out. The engine/transmission will have to be positioned at some steep angles to get it into the engine bay.

10 December 2016 - Engine/Transmission
Continued with getting the transmission setup/ready for bolting to the engine. Added a couple of supports to the wooden cradle the tranmission is resting on. Trying to get the wooden cradle setup so that I can suspend the engine from the engine hoist and be able to move the transmission into position to bolt it to the engine.

8 December 2016 - Transmission
Started putting hardware back on the transmission. I installed the neutral safety switch, the kickdown lever assembly and installed the transmission to crossmember mount.
8 December 2016 - Front Brake wheel well hard line
Today I checked the fitting and no fluid loss. So I am confident that the brakes are good to go and I can now move on to getting ready to install the engine/transmission into the car.

6 Nov 2016 - Driver side front brake line
I thought I had properly tightened all of the brake line fittings. Today I discovered the driver side front brake line fitting(the one the is at the flex line) is leaking. I tried a couple things but its still leaking. Decided to go ahead and create a replacement hard line. I have to check the flex line to make sure it is not damaged due to the tightening of the fitting.
I decided to see if the driver side front wheel hard line could still be used. I loosened the fitting at the frame in the front driver side wheel well, re-positioned the hard line then re-installed the fitting. So far there have been no signs of fluid loss at this fitting anymore, will check again in the morning.

4 December 2016 - Throttle pedal firewall grommet
I thought I would replace the throttle pedal firewall grommet today. Turns out that the screw that holds the throttle pedal to the throttle shaft is rusted to the assembly. I have sprayed PB Blast on the hardware and now its a wait and see situation. So much for an easy task on a rainy day.

3 December 2016 - Engine/Transmission Setup for installation
I think I have the brake system squared away now. So I am moving on to the installation of the engine/transmission.
I installed the motor mounts and heat shields on to the engine. I can't remember where I put the starter cable brackets that are installed between the block and the motor mounts. So I ordered a pair from SR. I also ordered a pack of 25 grease zert dust caps.
Until those parts arrive, I can't move forward with the installation at this time.
