23 Sept. 2023 - Replacement radiator has arrived.

Ordered a replacement radiator from Jegs, three days ago and it arrived today.  It is supposed to be a heavy duty version and a drop in replacement.  Since the radiator is at least 1" thicker, a shorter fan spacer will be used.  Need to order/buy replacement upper hose, lower hose, bypass hose, engine coolant and transmission fluid.

10 Sept., 2023 - Radiator woes...

While looking through the engine bay, noticed coolant leaking from the radiator.  Started the process of replacing the unit.  Once removed I will take it to a repair shop for an estimate.

16 APR 2023 - Electric Headlight cover project

 Still have not finalized the actuator pieces for the linear motors.  Will continue to work on that.  Also still looking into final layout of electrical wiring.

16 APR 2023 - Edelbrock carb rebuild and fuel filter

 Finally completed rebuild tune-up of Edelbrock 1405 carb.  Had to do a complete carb "overhaul".  Purchased an Edelbrock 1477 rebuild kit.  Also replaced the universal fuel filter that is installed between the fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator.  So far no leaks.  Need to test drive in the morning and it should be ok.  Might still need to make carb adjustments.  Check plugs(don't forget to redesign spark plug holder and print one for use in the garage).  Probably need to replace rubber fuel line from tank to steel fuel line, and the rubber fuel line that connects the two steel lines from the tank and to the fuel pump.

8 Sept 2021 - Starter failure

The starter failed today.  The starter solenoid fell apart inside the starter.  Removed and replaced it.  While re-installing the positive battery, the terminal fell apart.  Replaced that and now The Merc is operational.  One problem I noticed after putting everything back together, was that I routed the starter cable a bit too close to the headers.  Before I get out of the garage, I will adjust that cable location.

Adjusted the starter motor positive cable so that it is further away from the header.

31 may 2021 - electric hide away headlight doors

Setup the DPDT relay and one actuator to verify proper wiring and function.  Testing/checkout worked, now I can look into proper installation of the relay, circuit breaker and actuator wiring.

 Here is an updated pic of the mounting adapter.  The spacing between the holes is now .17" and that allows the headlight door to be completely open and close
