19 January 2019 - Choke cable installation

Finally installed the choke cable assembly and setup the Edelbrock 1405 manual choke.  The installation took about 40 minutes and included adjustments and testing.  The 1405 works flawlessly with the choke cable.  Pull the choke, start the car and it idles up and stabilizes like it should.

The copper piece was used to keep the choke from closing.  It worked very well and did  not cause any issues.
The cigarette lighter was removed a long time ago and is the perfect spot for a choke cable.  I drilled two small holes to mount the choke cable bracket.

The empty hole on the left there, with a small grommet, is where the choke cable will be installed.
Here, the cable is installed and connected to the carb and choke mechanism.

5 January 2019 - MSD 6A to MSD distributor

I thought I would plastic tubing around the MSD 6A to MSD distributor wiring, to add a little more protection.  I bought a 5' piece of convoluted tubing and wrapped the wiring and used Tessa tape to secure the tubing.
Before the MSD 6A to MSD distributor wiring is wrapped

After the MSD 6A to MSD distributor wiring is wrapped.  I used 3/8" convoluted tubing and Tessa tape

5 January 2019 - Edelbrock 1405

I was able to test drive the car today.  I drove it for about 20 minutes to check the fuel lines/fittings for leaks.  There appears to be a very slight leak at the output port of the fuel pressure regulator to the carb.  The pipe thread fitting is the source of the leak.  What is happening, is that there are no leaks for a few days, then that fitting starts to leak slightly.  Wipe it off and no leak until a few days after that.  I don't have another -6an male to 3/8" npt male fitting.  So it this gets worse, I will replace the fittings with a 3/8" npt male to 3/8" fuel barb, then install rubber fuel line to the carb.  That is not the preferred setup, but if it works without leaks I'll do it.
