- installed the radiator shroud
- installed all coolant system hoses
- installed water pump pulley
- installer radiator fan
- installed V-Belt and adjusted
- installed intake manifold bolts(one of the carb stud holes goes into the intake runner, put some RTV on the threads and letting it cure)
- installed mechanical water temp sensor(used RTV instead of the tape, have to let it dry for a bit)
- set the static timing
- filled the engine crankcase with 5 QTS oil and installed the oil filter
- filled the transmission case with 3 quarts of oil, still need to add 5-6 more quarts - will do that later)
- installed mechanical and electric oil pressure sending units
- installed nylon line for mechanical oil pressure gauge
- installed carb and throttle linkage
- installed brake booster rubber vacuum line and intake manifold fitting
- installed rubber vacuum line for transmission modulator valve
- pressurized the oil system( using the electric drill oil pressure is 52 PSI)
- installed ignition coil
- installed distributor set to #1 cylinder
- installed spark plug wires
- connected MSD wiring to distributor and ignition coil
- installed fuel lines
- filled cooling system with 3 gallons of coolant(2 gals water, 1 gal coolant)
The Merc is now ready to start. Charging the battery overnight.
